The ULTIMATE Harry Potter Social Network

Over Christmas break, I went on a Disney Cruise (don't worry, the Harry Potter comes later). So, on Christmas, I was in a stateroom crammed with presents, hardly any of which I had asked for for Christmas, because the majority of presents I had asked for were Harry Potter related, and too big to fit in a suitcase. I was very happy with all the presents I had received, happier than I am most years, and I'm not afraid to say I don't like a present. When we returned home from our cruise, arriving at my house at roughly 12:30 a.m. on the 28th, I was suddenly very upset. Where was my Beedle the Bard book?!
I had known I was supposed to get it for Christmas. My mom had all but told me I would. When we sat down to open the rest of our presents later that afternoon, I dove straight for the book-shaped ones, but found no Beedle. I was worried that I wouldn't receive the present I was looking forward to most. I reached for a large rectangular box, which in no way resembled a book, and opened it. I was lucky, and opened the side that said "Tales of Beedle the Bard. Dear Muggles, do not open or send until December 4th." I screamed.
As I was taking Beedle the Bard out of the cardboard box, I was amazed at how big it was! I knew the special edition version (which cost about 100 dollars, to give you an idea) was fancy, but I didn't know it was going to be the size of a box. Then I opened it. It was a box. That fake book was the nicest book box I have ever seen. The fake pages even felt like pages!
Sitting in a little indentation inside the book box was a red drawstring bag, with J.K. Rowling's signature embroidered on it in gold string. I opened the bag and pulled out the book. It was small, but beautiful. The cover had silver, metal designs, and a skull pressed right in the middle. The book box also held a collection of blown-up versions of the drawings inside the book itself. I flipped through those a moment, then opened Beedle the Bard. I smiled when I saw that it was translated by Hermione Granger. It was nice to see a familiar name in there.
I would have read it right then and there, but I had other presents to open, so I set Beedle aside, not knowing that the present I had been asking for for at least a year was coming.
I opened a few more presents, very happy now, and found some Doctor Who posters and a few other little things. Finally, it came to the last present. I tried to pick it up to set it in my lap (I was sitting on the floor) but it was way to heavy. Eventually, my dad had to help me get it to the point where I could open. I unwrapped it and found, to no one's surprise, another cardboard box. They were popular this year. This one gave no clue as to what was inside, though. I opened it up and found two pairs of pajamas sitting next to each other, obviously covering up whatever was underneath. I looked at the pajamas and thought they were cool. I figured that the rest of the box would be other things similar to this just crammed inside. I was just setting aside the other pair of pajamas when I noticed what was inside the box and recognized it immediately.
"These are nice pajam-OH MY GOSH!" Again, I screamed.
Technically, it was only another cardboard box, but it was the most beautiful cardboard box I had ever seen. I reached my hands down the side and grabbed the handles to pull it out. Who knew all seven Harry Potter books were so heavy! All I could do for a moment was stare at it. Made to look like a wooden chest, it had a little "lock" on the front, which I quickly undid. I opened the lid.
There they were. All seven Harry Potter books lined up for me, just sitting underneath their plastic covering.
"Don't ever open the plastic!" my sister said, but I knew that I was going to. I knew that I had to look at them, because my versions of the books didn't match like these. My versions of the first and second were the "adult" versions. I had never had the chance to study their covers.
Later, after I had cleared a spot for it in my room, I opened the chest again. I didn't want to open the plastic, but then again, I really wanted to. I grabbed a pair of scissors and veeeeeeeery carefully poked a hole in the corner of the plastic covering. I used my fingernail to carve a three-sided box around the books and carefully peeled it backwards. I could almost hear the angels.
I quickly took out any little particles of dust that were beneath the plastic, then covered the books once more. I set the chest on the shelf, right next to Beedle the Bard, and felt that I couldn't get any happier than this, because I had everything I wanted.
