About me
I first heard about the books during a show and tell, when I was in the second grade. It sounded a little boring to me; he was just an orphan who has adventures. And the previews for the first movie didn't change that attitude. One day, though, I decided to get one out of the library to see what it was about. The book I picked up was called "Prisoner of Azkaban," and I chose it because I liked the look of the cover. I started to read...and it's been 12 years now. :)

Since then, I've read all 7 books, as well as the three companion books, and Melissa Anelli's book on the history of the fandom. I've been a visitor to MuggleNet for over a decade, reading their wonderful editorials on the series. Now, I actually work for the editorial staff, miraculously. I've been an avid listener to the wizard rock genre (songs written about Harry Potter) for a few years now. And lastly, since December 2008, I've been a member of the Harry Potter social network, MuggleSpace, of which I eventually became a moderator for, and I am now the administrator of the site.

These are my favourite books:
Harry Potter
Guardians of Ga'Hoole
Artemis Fowl
Deltora
Animorphs
Children of the Red King
Frankenstein
Dracula
Sherlock Holmes
Around the World in 80 Days
There's A Boy in the Girl's Bathroom
Pottermore Username
SeerNight83
My Hogwarts House
Ravenclaw
My favorite quotes
-"I dream a dream of words spoken and seen, feelings felt and used, stories read and heard, wondrous, beautiful, soulful, loving magic released to the unknowing world......if only we could see, hear, and feel it."

-"Did I request thee Maker, from my clay to mould me man? Did I solicit thee from darkness, to promote me?"

-"I ought to be thy Adam, but rather I am the fallen angel whom thou drivest from joy for no misdeed."

-“Sometimes people think someone’s a monster. But that’s only because they can’t see the ‘good’ that’s there inside him. And then…they call him a monster, and other people start calling him a monster, and everyone treats him like a monster and then after a while he starts believing it himself. He thinks he’s a monster too so he acts like one. But he still isn’t a monster. He still has lots of good, buried deep inside him."

-"Stories are not for those condemned to age, but for the heart and soul, which are eternal."
My favorite Harry Potter book
Deathly Hallows
My favorite Harry Potter movie
Deathly Hallows II

Years I've spent,

Alone, and not quite understood.

Not everyone sees my heart and soul;

The love, kindness, joy, and tenderness that lie behind,

The brain, the words.

Amazingly, some have,

Some do see Brandon now.

I'm loved, understood, believed in.

By wonderful friends,

And parents who have always been there.

For all the struggles of life,

I am blessed with magic that shines through the…

Frankenstein Review

Posted on May 28, 2012 at 10:30pm 0 Comments

This is honestly one of my favourite novels, and a tragically beautiful story. A passionate, ambitious young man's misguided quest to discover the foundations of life, and free mankind from the advances of death, transformed into a hellish journey to free the world (and himself) from the apparent malice of his creation. An abandoned, lonely being despised by humanity and himself for his physical differences, condemned to follow his passions into moral oblivion. Frankenstein is a pure…

Review of Artemis Fowl #1

Posted on May 28, 2012 at 3:49pm 1 Comment

When I first picked up this book at the age of 11, little did I know the adventures I was about to embark on. Holly's warning was quite right: "Stay back human. You don't know what you're dealing with." I really didn't, and the warning would foreshadow the emotional upheaval I would experience later on in the series. But back to the happy beginning of Artemis II's moral journey.

Eoin Colfer is a genius. In this book, he blends both literature and film, creating a story that…

A Soul Revealed

Hello, my old friend!

How has life been treating you?

What’s wrong?

I can see your face:

Sad.

Lonely.

Downtrodden.

And yet,

You stand tall, proud, and strong,

Your leaves a bright, lustrous green.

There is so much beauty around you…

Why can I only see tears?

How many years have you stood here, alone?

My heart tells me it wasn’t always this way.

I know you were once…

Days of Heaven (Tribute to Nana)

Posted on June 1, 2011 at 6:00pm 6 Comments

“Wake up, Brandy-man! It’s morning!” my mother’s sweet and wonderful voice says, startling me awake. It’s 6 o’clock in the morning, on a warm summer’s day in July.

“I’m up,” I yell sleepily, attempting to get myself up. But my bed is so soft, warm, and comfortable…and it’s 6 o’clock!

It would be so nice to just lie here for hours, and look outside at the Sun shining through the trees, I think dreamily.

Of course, it is still early… Continue

The Mind of A Fool

I'm fine. I'm just giving you space. Lately I've become a nuisance, and all I do is bother you with stupid questions, in an attempt to get close to the way we used to be, when you'd confide in me. And I'm sorry about that......I'm only trying to make myself feel better. I'm just leaving you be now......giving you a free life from me for awhile. I'm giving you peace for a bit.......without me bothering you about how things have changed. Sorry about that, even though you don't want me to… Continue

Fave books: Harry Potter (obviously), Eragon series, Hollow Kingdom series, anything by Holly Black, historical fiction. The list goes on. My mom has a degree in horticulture, so I got that from her. I love cats, dogs and salamanders. And alpacas. Lol. Thanks for the welcome!

Thank you, it's a pleasure to meet you to! To me it seems to be the first book where Harry truly becomes his own self, where he grows up a lot and realizes he's part of something a lot bigger. What do you like about it?
