Years I've spent,
Alone, and not quite understood.
Not everyone sees my heart and soul;
The love, kindness, joy, and tenderness that lie behind,
The brain, the words.
Amazingly, some have,
Some do see Brandon now.
I'm loved, understood, believed in.
By wonderful friends,
And parents who have always been there.
For all the struggles of life,
I am blessed with magic that shines through the…

This is honestly one of my favourite novels, and a tragically beautiful story. A passionate, ambitious young man's misguided quest to discover the foundations of life, and free mankind from the advances of death, transformed into a hellish journey to free the world (and himself) from the apparent malice of his creation. An abandoned, lonely being despised by humanity and himself for his physical differences, condemned to follow his passions into moral oblivion. Frankenstein is a pure…

When I first picked up this book at the age of 11, little did I know the adventures I was about to embark on. Holly's warning was quite right: "Stay back human. You don't know what you're dealing with." I really didn't, and the warning would foreshadow the emotional upheaval I would experience later on in the series. But back to the happy beginning of Artemis II's moral journey.

Hello, my old friend!
How has life been treating you?
What’s wrong?
I can see your face:
Sad.
Lonely.
Downtrodden.
And yet,
You stand tall, proud, and strong,
Your leaves a bright, lustrous green.
There is so much beauty around you…
Why can I only see tears?
How many years have you stood here, alone?
My heart tells me it wasn’t always this way.
I know you were once…

Caitlin Mary Popodi said… Fave books: Harry Potter (obviously), Eragon series, Hollow Kingdom series, anything by Holly Black, historical fiction. The list goes on. My mom has a degree in horticulture, so I got that from her. I love cats, dogs and salamanders. And alpacas. Lol. Thanks for the welcome!
Leanne McTavish said… Thank you, it's a pleasure to meet you to! To me it seems to be the first book where Harry truly becomes his own self, where he grows up a lot and realizes he's part of something a lot bigger. What do you like about it?
Priscila Lancaster Moore said… Thanks Brandon, is a pleasure to meet you too. Well I'm interested in cardiology, but still thinking about it. I knew when my father gave me the first book in the saga when it was released I can say it was love at first sight
