true...

Michael Gambon isn't my favorite Dumbledore...

I've heard that a fair few times... seems a split between him and Richard Harris... and Yes, it's agreed Harris's was the best protrayal of the venerable headmaster, just tragic he couldn't see it through... or his friend Peter O'Toole couldn't fill in or for that matter his, Richard's, son - a movie director

Richard Harris was the best; Michael Gambon has grown on me, although I still would have loved to have Ian McKellen.  Damn LOTR for snagging him first!

All timing there... and he would have been a first choice I'd wager...

I heard Ian McKellen say in an interview that he wouldn't have been able to handle being Dumbledore because he was already one great wizard in LOTR and being 2 would have been to much

Sounds plausible, but he was also working on the X - Men series, Theatre and LOTR...

well that could have been why it would be too much that's a lot of work

Indeed, a very in demand actor of high versatility...

My favorite bad-guy in the movies was always Bellatrix. I loved how Helena Bonham Carter portrayed that sense of madness that Bellatrix always seemed to have in the books. I think it would have been a bonus if she had seemed just a bit more "I really want to be near you" with Voldemort, though, but nothing else really could have made her any better for the part. LOVE YOU, HELENA!!!
