Well, I was born in 1995, so I obviously wasn't old enough to read the books when I was two! Around summer 2003, I saw the first movie and maybe the second, but then my mom would say "If the movie's based on a book, you have to read the book first," and I was fine with that 'cause at eight, you want to read, right? Well my dad and brother loved the books, they aren't as big fans as they were, in fact I recently inherited my brother's snitch clock, so I started reading the books, and i was a slow reader, and in around the fifth grade I got halfway through the fifth book and I was Potter-less for a few years. Then I saw the trailer for the sixth movie and I thought "Oh, crap." So now, two months later, I'm done all the books!
My sister read them when i was about 4. As you can probebly tell, i was a bit too young to be reading them!!!! but, when the time came, i read them, and ive been reading and watching the movies ever since.
WellI remember being in like 2 grade(I think)when SS was in theatres. And this girl had on Hedwig overalls and I asked her what the owl was for.:D She told me.:D And after that my aunt got me really hooked,I would always go to her house and wed watch SS and CoS(on VHS!!) after school.:D And in 5th grade I watched Prisoner of Azkaban and truly since then, its been love.Sadly I did not read the books first, but I did read them.Like 2 days each.Amazing.Yeah,thats my story.:D
Back in 2001, my family all wanted to see the Sorceror's Stone. i saw the trailer, and thought" that movie looks so stupid and childess, Im NOT seeing it." i refused. Course everyone in my fam who usually went to the movies the day after Thanksgiving, wanted to see it. so i agreed. Little did i know after it was over, i loved it. So immediately started reading COS. Well at the time, i didnt know that the movies were slightly different from the books, so i read COS. My friend told me they were different, so after i read COS, I read SS. and the others books followed, with seeing every movie in between. Then i discovered fandom such as Wizard Rock and message boards, and that's when i became obsessed. Now im so obsessed my life consists of Jesus and Harry Potter and thats it.
Well the only Birthday present i had gotten from my grandmother on my dads side was Harry Potter and the Sorcerers stone. I am glad she has done that since now i am completly obsessed with it. I was about 8 or nine when i had recieved the first harry potter. I absoultly fell in love with the book and that christmas my mother had gotten me a set that contained the first four books i believe that was in 2000 and since then ive been completly obsessed visiting fan sites and buying harry potter gear like shirts and stuff. My life revolves around Harry Potter. Now i cant wait for Deathly Hallows to come out.
The fifth book was the start of the addiction for me. I had heard and seen a few people with the Harry Potter books but I never got around to reading them (don't know why, I practically breathed books when I was 11/12). But anyway, my brother ended up buying the fifth book maybe 6 months after it came out and after he read it it was just lying in his closet. Fortunately, I was in the process of looking for a new book to read and grabbed Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Now you guys have read that book, what a crappy place to start! Lol. I was slightly confused but enjoyed it nevertheless and was hooked. I bought the paperback 1-4, since they were the cheapest and there wasn't to much money put aside in my family for buying novels. I devoured them in record time and patiently waited for number 6, which I got at a midnight release and stayed up for nine hours reading that. Lets just say my vision was blurring. :) And there you have it. My potterholic story.
I started reading the books when I was 10 or 9. Most of the movies were already out but I didn't really get them. So I read the 1st one and I liked it but not a huge fan. Then I started reading the 2nd one and I fell in love with Harry Potter! I don't mean Harry himself I mean the books and movies.
i've only started reading/watching HP this summer, and it started out as a way to stop my little brother from pestering me to read them.after chapter 2 of book 1,i was HOOKED!i cants top reading now!

I was in detention one day in seventh grade, and i always did my school work so my teach gave me the first Harry Potter! That started the downward spiral to the Harry Potter addiction, dont get me wrong, i love it.

That was the first book i have read front to back. two days later i checked out the next two, one month later, the fourth one came out.

and that was it. i read all kinds of books now, in the years that followed i have read more and more. So thank you Harry Potter,

Over last summer I had nothing to read, so my aunt gave me her copies of the Harry Potter Series. I didn't want to make her feel bad by turning down her gift so I started to read them even though at the time I though I wouldn't like them ( I was obviously wrong). By the time the summer had end I had read all of the books and had Harry potter on the brain all the time! So yeah It's all thanks to me aunt!

I started in 2007 during my third grade Harry Potter themed Library Week.

I thought that our integration to it was going to be graded, and i panicked that i might not get a good grade if i didn't know about Harry Potter, (I didn't like watching movies) so i just read the book and got absolutely HOOKED to it.

IN the end, it wasn't really graded, but it was totally worth knowing Harry Potter! I read books 1-5 in a week and i still keep on rereading all of them... coz you know, they're just awesome like that ;)
